Douglas Murray in Conversation with Sean McMeekin,
Winner of the 2026 Hayek Book Prize
The winner of the 22nd annual Hayek Book Prize is Sean McMeekin, for his book To Overthrow the World: The Rise and Fall and Rise of Communism (Basic Books, 2025). McMeekin will be interviewed by Douglas Murray, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and contributing editor of City Journal.
This year’s lecture is particularly timely. Dr. McMeekin’s scholarship shows how socialism has failed horrendously every time it has been imposed, just as Friedrich Hayek predicted.
