Here is a picture of this Financial Times news story, about the evacuation of the Amona settler outpost.Which forcibly moves the self-entitled Israeli settlers out of the area, so that 3,000 new housing units can be built, as the in-order-to that other settlers can move in. One wonders at the political dull witted Netanyahu and Naftali Bennett! The use of the jackboot is usually reserved for the moral/political Other.
What is interesting about this report is that the Financial Times has not, as usual, provided a comments section. As a long time reader of the FT, I could predict the negative replies, that this news item would have generated, even bordering on the Antisemitic. This is what this lack of a comments section is about: the protection of the Financial Times’ bourgeois political respectability. Another reason might just be that the hours spent patrolling the comments section would tax the finite resources of this newspaper. A report on Israel’s ‘Lebensraum On The Installment Plan’ is sure to draw a significant readership, of even just the casual reader.
