Marc A. Thiessen on Marco Rubio : The Importance of Fiscal Probity by Political Observer

Here is Marc A. Thiessen demonstrating his value as Republican Party propagandist. Yet, this encomium to the political virtues of Marco Rubio is, in sum, an introduction to a stump speech by that candidate, delivered by an important someone, but not the candidate himself. This is merely a complimentary introduction: Mr. Rubio will use this rhetorical frame to then address the audience on the importance of each of the questions and assertions raised by it. Mr. Thiessen has perfected his animus toward Democrats and the dangers of Obama’s New Deal recrudescence, answering it by asserting the political/fiscal necessity of austerity, in the face of demonstrable fiduciary irresponsibility, indeed utter self-willed ignorance of a looming disaster. Paul Ryan and his gifts as the great fake Republican Budget Guru is the main protagonist in this episode of The American Political Melodrama, predicated on the dichotomy between Republican fiscal probity and Democratic fiscal recklessness.

About stephenkmacksd

Rootless cosmopolitan, down at heels intellectual;would be writer. 'Polemic is a discourse of conflict, whose effect depends on a delicate balance between the requirements of truth and the enticements of anger, the duty to argue and the zest to inflame. Its rhetoric allows, even enforces, a certain figurative licence. Like epitaphs in Johnson’s adage, it is not under oath.' https://www.lrb.co.uk/v15/n20/perry-anderson/diary
